Idea submission rules
Visitors may voluntarily suggest calculators and other tools. Digutils may thank contributors for implemented ideas by displaying a nickname. Submission does not guarantee acceptance or publication.
Submitting and reviewing ideas
- Describe the problem, intended inputs and expected outputs where possible. Suggestions may be sent through a channel designated on the site when it becomes available.
- Digutils decides which ideas to review, implement, modify, postpone or reject. Submission does not guarantee a response, acceptance, development or publication.
- Similar suggestions may arrive from multiple people or already be planned. Digutils decides how to acknowledge contributions.
Prohibited submissions
- Do not suggest unlawful activity, fraud, spam, malware, privacy violations, threats, hateful content or other abusive uses.
- Do not submit passwords, tokens, identity documents, secrets or protected third-party code, text or images without the required rights.
Ideas and intellectual property
- Suggesting an idea, method or principle by itself does not make the contributor the author of software, design or other work developed by Digutils.
- Rights in independently created Digutils software, design, documentation and other protected results belong to the project's lawful rights holder to the extent legally held. An idea submission alone gives no rights in the resulting tool.
- Ideas are volunteered without payment. Submission alone creates no entitlement to fees, compensation, revenue share, advertising royalties, control over a tool or other remuneration.
- Submitting an idea does not transfer rights in the contributor's independently protected works to Digutils. Separate permission or an agreement may be required to use such material.
Nickname guidelines
- Digutils may show a contributor's nickname on an implemented tool's page as a thank-you for the idea, not as recognition of authorship of the software. Acknowledgement is not guaranteed.
- Nicknames must not include insults, profanity, threats, discriminatory content, advertising, spam, links, third-party personal data or unlawful content.
- Do not impersonate any person, organization or Digutils representative, or misuse protected names or trademarks.
- Digutils may set length and character limits, reject a nickname or request a replacement. A nickname is published only with the contributor's consent.
Appearance and duration of acknowledgements
- Digutils chooses any fonts, text sizes, color palettes, wording, appearance, placement, display methods and other design decisions for acknowledgements at its discretion.
- Digutils may restyle, move or discontinue an acknowledgement when a tool is removed, replaced or reworked, rules are broken or other justified reasons apply. Permanent placement is not guaranteed.
- Contributors may request a nickname change or removal through an available contact channel, subject to applicable law.
Monetization and rule changes
- Digutils decides how tools are developed, supported, offered for free or a fee, and monetized with advertising. Submitting an idea does not create a revenue entitlement.
- The current rules are published on the site. Changes apply to subsequent submissions, subject to mandatory applicable law.
